Better Than the Alternative....Ha Ha!!!

I found this cute poem on Grammie's friend's blog.

so now I know...
SPECIAL POEM

A row of bottles on my shelf
Caused me to analyze myself.
One yellow pill I have to pop
Goes to my heart so it won't stop.
A little white one that I take
Goes to my hands so they won't shake.
The blue ones that I use a lot
Tell me I'm happy when I'm not.
The purple pill goes to my brain
And tells me that I have no pain.
The capsules tell me not to wheeze
Or cough or choke or even sneeze.
The red ones, smallest of them all
Go to my blood so I won't fall.
The orange ones, very big and bright
Prevent my leg cramps in the night.
Such an array of brilliant pills
Helping to cure all kinds of ills.
But what I'd really like to know...........
Is what tells each one where to go!

There's always a lot to be thankful for if
you take time to look for it. For example
I am sitting here thinking how nice it is
that wrinkles don't hurt...

Thanks for the giggle and smile on my face when I read this...thanks Claudia

Conversation with Max

Max and I were driving home from school the other day. He asked if we could go to my house, in fact, he wanted to spend the night. I told him it was a school night, so, no way could he stay that night. He asked if he could stay the weekend, and of course I had to tell him that I had to work and wouldn't get a weekend off for a few weeks. He said rather emphatically, "You need a new job"!!! I laughed because I thought if I could get a job where I did not work weekends, that would be great. Then he said, "You need to work at the zoo" That sounded fun. But, what would I do??? Well, Max had an answer for that too. "Well, if you take care of sick babies, then you could take care of sick animals" More that likely I will continue taking care of sick babies, since that is what I do best, but I feel loved that my Max wants his Meme off on weekends more so he can have time with me...that feels great.

Shelby Girl

This is my Shelby. She is always by my side. Always. No matter where I go, she goes. If I try to ignore her, have a moment to myself, she whines very insistently, until I give in and put her by me. She is my baby, and I love her to pieces.

Good-Bye Sam

Amy, Kevin, Lily and Forrest had to say good-bye to Sam, the black and white cat, today. Sam died last night. He went into the fourth bedroom and went to sleep. Kevin found him a few minutes later. Forrest had taken to carrying Sam around all the time. Sam let him. He would look like, oh well, I like this kid, I'll let him tote me.
Sam loved the backyard. He would sit and stare at the doorknob for someone, anyone to open the door and let him so lie in the sun. Lily loved him too. She finally cried tonight. When Kevin told me today, we both had tears in our eyes. They are part of your family.
