FINAL FOUR

Way to go Memphis Tigers. They are in the Final Four. My boys and I and a few hundred thousand people are soooo happy. They beat Texas by 18 points. Yeah!!!

My day was going so wonderful until I went out my new storm door and locked me and Shelby the dog outside. There I was in my nightgown, new storm doors locked up tighter than a tick, electric gate in "not budging one bit mode", and no one around. No cell phone to call anyone, no windows that could be broken, not that I should do that since I take an injection of heparin every day. Neighbor on right not at home, ones on the left would never hear me screaming. What's a girl to do??? When what to my wondering eyes did appear, a lone neighbor jogging down the street. Help me, I scream. He looked at me and said no way lady. No, no, no he didn't say that at all. He did look somewhat surprised to see me there in my nightgown and robe, but he came to my rescue. Only thing was, who has an extra key? Not my children, not a neighbor, no one...BooHooHoo.
All of a sudden I thought of Gaylon, the young man working on the house. I called him and HE WAS HOME. He came over in a flash to open the doors and I got to play with his 5 month old baby boy and four year old daughter. If you know anything about me, it is how much I love children. So, it wasn't such a bad day after all. And, hey Memphis is going to the Final Four. Did I tell you that before???

Easter

Friday was the Annual Easter Egg Hunt at McVay Park. This year Lily, Forrest, Amy and I were joined by Kevin. I was very happy because I never seem to be with my boys on Easter. So this was an extra blessing to me. We all meet and greet for about an hour while the little ones, big ones too, play on the playground. The Easter bunny always comes and is greeted by hugs, smiles, and cheers by some, while others scream very loudly. Lily has always loved the bunny. She sits in his lap, happy and excited. He always has candy and passes it out freely. You just give in knowing sugar highs are coming soon. She of course get a head start on Forrest, since he just ignores him and goes on playing. Now if the bunny drove a tractor or dump truck, he would be all over him. Before any egg hunting can begin, we take the annual picture memory with the Easter bunny. We started out sitting around a picnic table, but have grown in the years and now we are sprawled all over the playground whatsamacallit on two levels and kids and grandmaws are everywhere. I am always with my grandchildren for the pic and this year I got tickled looking at all the Moms taking pics looking back at us with the cameras. Usually before everyone has snapped the perfect picture, all the babies are screaming, the toddlers are squirming every which way, and the smile on my face has turned into a "get this over with fast" twitch. Next, comes the Big Hunt. The word GO signals all the big kids running and the toddlers looking all puzzled holding their baskets and almost being windswept by the others. Eventually they get the idea and then cry when they have reached their limit of a dozen. However, it ain't over until they find the Golden Egg. After quite awhile Lily found one Golden Egg while everyone else was trying to find the second Golden Egg, which was lost in a tree trunk. So, she lucked out and got a five dollar bill. You know what that meant??? She got to treat us to lunch. Not really, but we did go to Chili's for lunch before we went on a wonderful hike. More about that later, my fingers have cramps now.
I had a wonderful time. I love being with my family. Watching Kevin helping Forrest hunt eggs warmed my heart and I will cherish all my memories forever...
I missed Max, but he did call me tonight to thank me for the basket, and the Snoopy, and the Pokeman. Talking with him was wonderful. It made my day. Thanks Max.

Converse is 100 years young. Rocky has worn them. Paul McCartney did too. Oh yeah, so did Green Day, James Dean, Harry Potter, too.
But, nobody wears them better than my Number One Son, Brian. Nobody!!!!

SNOW

It snowed here in Memphis on Friday. Beautiful snow. All white, fluffy, and soft. I came home from work and the snow made everything quiet, peaceful, and serene. Do you know why??? I did not have to work the next day. It is amazing how your view of everything when you get to have a stay home day.

Poor school kids. Our snow happened on the weekend!!!
