I took the boys to the Botanic Gardens for a night of Wizardry.
We met a Wand maker. Forrest got a cherry one, and Max a Walnut one. Forrest can make
people tell the truth, while Max can control the weather...
We learned about potions, like swamp fog, lightening in a bottle, and dragon's blood. Forrest mixes some potions.
My fav was Lightening in a Bottle. In fact, I sprayed it all over
the place as I opened it. The boys laughed and said my potions exploded.....
They really are up in the house. I just thought
it was a neat house...in The Big Backyard!
Forrest....I swear he had fun!
These boys are not crazy about the camera
tonight....
The flowers were pretty, too!

Ballet and Russian Tea
After the ballet, there was a Russian tea. All the little ballet girls had tea. I liked the tea server....
Waiting for tea...
Lily and Callie....
Backstage....
After ballet, it is tradition to go to Huey's. We blow all the social graces aside,
and try to blow the toothpicks into the ceiling. A Huey's tradition!
One last picture with Meme....this may be her last year at Ballet....

The Flood and Booker T. Washington
This is the picture I posted last week of the school there in the Mississippi River....well, the Harbor actually....The back of the school was sandbagged. Just in case.....
Well, just in case happened! Here is what it is like now. The river has crested at just under 48 feet. That is just short of the record set back in 1927 I think....This pic is a copy of one by Jamie Harmon....
There is some good news here in Memphis town.... President Obama selected Booker T. Washington High School to speak at their graduation! They participated in a contest with other high schools and made it to the top three. Then the President choose them. They have worked hard the past few years and I am very proud of them. The percentage of seniors graduating went from 55% to over 80%....Now, their hard work is being rewarded....

Flooding 2011
The Mighty Mississippi is showing how mighty it can be. It is inching itself
into the lives and homes of many along it's path.
Here we are a few weeks ago, listening to music during The Regatta. In fact we are listening
to the famous Bob Dorough, of School House Rock fame, playing in the school
amphitheatre. Now look at the picture below. This is what it looked like yesterday....
Yesterday some parents, teachers, and students helped fill
sandbags to offer protection from the Mightly Mississippi!
