Lily recently celebrated her ninth birthday. It was a
celebration spread out over several days. It was
a rite of passage for her in that she finally
got her ears pierced. It was a family affair and both
grandmothers held her hands; while her parents, well,
her mother mostly, teared up in the background.
She is so much a big girl now. No longer are there
princesses in her life. Pink the color is out! She is
a Taylor Swift and that dude Justin fan.....So, for
her birthday, I got her tickets to a Taylor Swift
concert. So, it begins....Of course, her mom and
I will be going with her.....
She is still a little girl deep down. Her present
from Mom and Dad was a new bike. She
still has many paths to ride down before
she is grown.....oh, so many!

Many paths...oh, don't hurry down them. They grow up so fast, don't they.
It is so neat to see children grow up through a friend's blog. It makes you almost feel like you know them. Ella will turn five soon, and that doesn't seem possible. I need to do a blogpost to catch up. I'm afraid I let Facebook take up too much of my time.
@Beverly....I know what you mean. I feel like I know all of my blogging buddies, and in a way I do.... I too spend way to much time on facebook, but, I find out so much "stuff"...and the followup is great...Hope you read this.... :)
Thank you for this entry - my "little one" just turned 9 also or is it 8 ? I just know time is going by to fast - grandma says no pierced ears yet...
Facebook - I do not have time to do what I am doing.
Well now that I have wiped a tear from cheek as I visualize this time with my 3-year-old granddaughter, I see your lovely girl is the sweetest that can be and well on her way to becoming that wonderful young woman. I love that photo on the bike...it is almost artistic!
Happy Bithday to a pretty young lady named Lily.
Wah! I wanna go back eleven years to my daughter being nine again. Sigh.
The concert is a great idea. I'm glad our paths have crossed in cyberspace. Belated birthday wishes to Lily.
She's such a beautiful girl and oh, so fortunate to have her look-a-like grandmother!
Sweet
