March of Dimes 2009

I have followed these toddlers since they were a few months old and feel like I know them personally. Watch

P.S. I realize now the blog is private. Sorry to all who tried to see these miraculous children. However, you can donate to the March of Dimes in hopes of making my job obsolete.

Overton Park

I am not the most knowledgeable with issues of Overton Park. But, I do know what I like and what I don't. I do not want anyone messing with my park. Progress is good, but don't mess with Mother Nature and what she has made. We must stop those trying to improve things, when actually they mess it up. For more help with what I am trying to say please go to this site.

It is worth our efforts.

MEMPHIS TIGERS

President Obama picked the Memphis Tigers to be in the Final Four. Now, that's a smart man....However, he did not pick them to win. He has been wrong with picks before.

A number 2 seed, Memphis has not lost a game for 25 games, if I remember correctly.

They won the first game in Kansas City. It was a nail biter. They Won!!!!

Next is Maryland......

GO TIGERS GO!!!!!!

I never knew my mother would clip little articles from the newspapers or magazines until one day while home for a visit I found some of them tucked in a book. My mother never made a scrapbook of my life, but instead she kept things safe in our encyclopedias. My first certificate from Sunday School, my report cards, Bible verses I had memorized were located in A-Z.

The thing that surprised me was that I did the same thing. So, as I read these I knew I was seeing a side of my mother I didn't know. I found we were alike. We both saved little verses that we wished we had written, or hairstyles we wish we looked like, or hopes for happier days when we found love. It made me smile and warmed my heart.
So, I found some of these little clips and thought I'd share them.
Everything in life has meaning. The bigger the fall, the greater the lesson.

"Barn's burnt down-
Now I can see the moon."
_Masahide(17th-century Japanese poet)

So, when life steps on you, and you make it through...

"One of the most valuable things we can do to heal one another
is listen to each other's stories."
Rebecca Falls

I find my blogging friends do that very thing....

Then, from my Blessings Journal that I started writing in after being diagnosed with Protein S Deficiency...

"One ought , everyday at least, to hear a little song,
read a good poem, see a fine picture, and if it were possible,
to speak a few reasonable words."
Goethe

My favorite is the one I saw in my doctor's office...

"Hope is the thing with feathers..
That perches on the soul
And sings the tune
Without the words
And never stops at all..."
Emily Dickinson

just a few of my thoughts I have cut and saved....just like my mama did...
