Grandparents Day at Campus

I love being a grandmother, and today I was an honored one. I got to school and signed in as all the teachers welcomed me and a host of other grandparents. I opened the door to Lily's classroom, looking for her. She was so eager for me to arrive and she motioned for me to come on in. She ran to me bringing a gift she had made for me....a poem about her small handprint along with her handprint....a family tree picture and a letter telling how we go to the Children's Museum, to Chickasaw Lake to climb the Magnolia trees, and go to Baskins Robins ice cream. We ate lunch together and went to recess. Those children had so much energy. Lily and her friends played Duck, Duck, Goose, climbed and drew chalk outlines of themselves. I think Mrs. A. is the best teacher, and Lily loves her...

Oh what fun! A day especially for grandparents! You certainly were spoiled! And looks like you had a good time.

Duck duck goose - oh, does that bring back memories!

Lily's gift was one you will treasure for all the rest of your life. What a sweet verse to go with the precious hand print.

I confess to a bit of envy. My grandchildren have always lived in a different state and I have never had the thrill of attending a day to honor grandparents. What a lovely thing the Lily's teacher did by organizing it. Lily was proud of you and you are proud of Lily. That's just beautiful.

This was truly delightful. Thank you for sharing :-) I would like to share the news about an incredible new service that strengthens the bond between grandparents and grandchildren. Grandchild Connection allows distant grandparents and grandchildren to develop close, meaningful relationships by utilizing today's technology of video conferencing. As part of the "VideoVisit" experience, we coach grandparents in educational and social activities that enhance the bonds they share with their grandchildren, and we provide the tools to achieve that end. We have launched our website today, National Grandparents Day, September 13th, 2009Come visit us @ http://grandchildconnection.com
