Earth Day

I went to Max's school and as we were walking down the street, he told me it was Earth Day. He said we should not run the ac to save energy. So we didn't. Telling me some of his friends go home and watch TV all afternoon. That made me think of when he was a little fella and spending time with me. We had been watching Videos and kids shows. A of a sudden he screamed "Meme, we have to turn the TV off, or my brain will turn to mush"...I laughed at him and he was upset at me, and we turned it off. I was telling him about this today, and he said, that's not true Meme, my brain would not turn to mush. I had to explain how at such a young age that is how his parents were teaching him the dangers of watching too much TV. We got a little laugh from that.

You are so fortunate to be able to spend time with your grandchildren.

One on one time with a grandchild is precious. I wish I had more of that!

Nice to be spending time with your grandchild. And they do say funny things sometimes. Or they think we do...

I have a son with Tourette's, and when he was just about to enter high school, his sister told him if he ever tried any drugs, it would turn his brain to mush, or fry his brains, something like that (because as you probably know, Tourette's is thought to be the result of an overproduction of dopamine in the brain).

He took her advice. And never tried any drugs. Imagine! I was glad.

I agree with all who said your are fortunate to have that special time with your grandson.

For the first time I will be sharing that pleasure when my youngest granddaughter (age 12) will be visiting me this summer. I am looking forward to a week of sharing giggles.

You are very blessed to spend time with a grandchild, as am I. They say the most interesting things to us, possibly because we are more willing to listen as grandparents than we were as parents. If you've gott'em, enjoy'em is my mantra.

I could have my A/C off on Earth Day, but I'm not sure about July 4.
