Just Some Thoughts

Tomorrow is December 1, 2009. We do not have too many days left of this year. It will be filled with holiday preparations and expectations. We almost never have the Christmas of our youths. We always hope for the perfect holiday. We are almost always disappointed. I overheard a friend at work the other day talking about how as she gets older she has decided not to be let down.
I think that is a good way to be. I am going to try. I am already setting myself up to be disappointed.....I work part of Christmas eve, and work Christmas day too. Hopefully, I will only have one more Christmas after this year, and then I will be retired....
My Christmas wishes are all about family though, and that is what makes me happy....

I love the tooth update. They are so cute! I seem to enjoy Thanksgiving more than Christmas anymore. We have not exchanged gifts for several years except for my grandchild. He is the only one we buy for now. I hate how commercialized Christmas has become when it is a time for family and friends to be together.

What a lovely pic of you and the grands. Your little granddaughter looks quite like you!

Christmas will never be like it was when we were young, but it's nice to just enjoy the family, the dinner and the decorations.

I'm sure those dear little babies will be happy that you are working part of Christmas, giving them love with a touch of your hand.
Hugs

Beverly, share all of your thoughts. Will think of you on Christmas Day. It is different when you live in a home "solo".
Retirement will be here before you know it. Trust me!! But from 64 to now - I have built 3 homes.
Lord - have I wonder do I have good sense. But I wanted to return home.
When you retire you can visit me.
Or sooner.

Lowering expectations is a good idea since nothing ever really meets the large plans and hopes we have. I am so thankful that you will be with those people on Christmas who need you so much as they also will be away for the holidays and you will be the cheerful face they need.

I'm looking forward to retiring in a year or two...or three also. Anyhow, thanks for following our blog. We will enjoy following yours as well. Mark, Bagman, and Butler.
